The Salon Wrap-Up for October 27th, 2019: “Hooray For Halloween! A Hollywood Halloween Celebration!”

Happy Halloween!  What an amazing Salon we had tonight!  Who were our co-hosts for the night?  The incomparable Adam B. Shapiro and Janice Hall!  They never disappoint, and this year was no exception.  MAC and Broadway World Award-Winner Adam Shapiro is currently in Fiddler On The Roof In Yiddish, playing at Stage 42 Tuesdays through Sundays.  fiddlernyc.or  His debut single, "Warm As Winter" (music and lyrics by Nicholas Levin), is available on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, and Google Music.  MAC and Bistro Award-Winner Janice Hall has nothing to announce at the moment -- but continues to not only be Adam's roommate, but his legendary Salon Halloween Co-Host!

Adam started the night with “Music of the Night,”, and Janice followed with "Love Song To A Vampire."  They started the second set with Janice singing "The Kind That Falls" and Adam singing "In Times Like These ..." (dressed as Cruella de Vil), and they closed the show with a medley of "I Won't Dance/A Fine Romance/Witchcraft."  I wasn't able to get pictures of all the costumes, but trust that they were phenomenal.

Salon Spotlight

Wow! What a Spotlight this was!  We had the incredible Olivia Perrin and Emily Kay!  Olivia and Emily will be performing at Don't Tell Mama on November 5th at 7pm. Olivia started off the Spotlight singing "Cabaret," and Emily followed with a power-house "Just Keep Moving' The Line." They ended with the legendary Judy/Barbara medley "Get Happy/Happy Days Are Here Again."

Quick Wrap-Up - Classical Corner

Mark Janas and Matthew Martin Ward teamed up to play a two-piano version of “Night on Bald Mountain” (which you’ll remember from Fantasia and other works)!  And it was amazing!  For more info on “Night on Bald Mountain,” here’s a link to Wikipedia.  Matthew ended CC by brilliantly playing a piece from Modest Mussorgsky's "Pictures From An Exhibition."  Thank you, Matthew, for your contribution -- we love when you are a part of Classical Corner!
