SALON, that Bistro Award winning, MAC Award nominated open mic created and hosted by Mark Janas, returns to Etcetera, Etcetera - 352 West 44th Street, NYC 10036 - on Sunday, April 18th from 7PM to 10:30PM.
The optional theme for the evening is "Cafe Society – The Music of Porter/Coward/Gershwin/Berlin.” Remember, any material, on or off theme, is always welcome at Salon!
Our Co-Host for the evening will be the Elegant Janice Hall! Janice has just returned from London where she performed the role of Hannah in the operatic version of “Angels in America” with the BBC Symphony.
Our Special Guest will be the Extraordinary Sarah Rice! Sarah, the original Johanna in “Sweeney Todd”, just received a 2010 Bistro Award for “Screen Gems – Songs of Old Hollywood”, which has two more performances: April 26th at 7pm & April 30th at 8pm at The Laurie Beechman Theatre, 407 West 42nd St, NYC 10036. 212-695-6909/ www.beechmantheatre.com. Bill Zeffiro will be filling as Guest Host/Pianist for the First Set. (Mark Janas will be joining us after his Richard Tucker Foundation gig.) There will be a $10 cash cover at the door, collected by 'Etceterette', Marnie Klar, and a $10 food/drink minimum (cash or credit) per person. The menu is affordable and delicious.
