The Salon Wrap-Up for March 16, 2014 - "In The Still Of The Night - The Songs of Noel Coward and Cole Porter"

March 16, 2014
Theme: “In The Still Of The Night - The Songs of Noel Coward and Cole Porter”

Our Salon guests walked in to find a delightful surprise - Matthew Martin Ward behind the keys! Co-founder and host, Mark Janas, was out sick tonight so Matthew stepped in at the eleventh hour. We were very sorry to lose Mark (and wish him a speedy recovery!) But it’s always nice to get so much of Matthew in one night. :)

Our Co-Host was Julie Wilson Award Winner, Shana Farr! Shana will be appearing in A COWARD CORNUCOPIA at The Laurie Beechman Theater – 407 West 42nd St, NYC 10036 – March 19th at 7pm. She is also premiering a new show, IN THE STILL OF THE NIGHT, which opens March 26. For more information: www.shanafarr.com

Co-Host, Shana Farr!

Sneak Peek: Classical Corner

As I mentioned earlier, dashing to our rescue for Guest Hosting duties was Mathew Martin Ward. This means that Classical Corner was shifted to “Matt’s Corner” for which Matthew prepared 3 songs perfect for the theme:

“Mad about The Boy”
by Noel Coward
(Matthew gave us some new lyrics that he discovered when reading Graham Payne’s memoir!)

“A Little Skipper From Heaven Above”
by Cole Porter

“Dead Lovers”
Music by Matthew Martin Ward and lyrics by Stephen Cole
(Hilarious song - you singers want to get your hands on this one!)
