The Salon Wrap-Up for June 30th, 2019: "Love Is Where You Find It"

We found love at the Salon tonight with the wonderful MULTIPLE MAC Award-winning Singer/Songwriter, Pianist, Musical Director, and Recording Artist Bill Zeffiro as our guest host/pianist, and the gorgeous Liora Michelle as our co-host!  Liora has performed classic lyric soprano roles to critical acclaim, including Mimì, Musetta, Micaela, Nedda, Leonora (Il Trovatore), and Desdemona (Otello), among others, receiving praise for "the intensity of her performance and the extraordinary quality of her talent" (Il Globo) and her "heavenly sense of phrasing and timing" (The Herald Sun).

Bill and Liora started the evening with "Love Is Where You Find It."  They opened the second half with "Padam, Padam," "Fifty Percent/One Fine Day," and "Metropolitan Scat," and closed the evening with "Tu vuò fà l'Americano."

Bill can be seen every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 8pm-12am at La Ravista and every Thursday from 8pm-11pm at Parnell's.  His CD, BETTER THAN NOTHING, is available on Amazon, iTunes, and CD Baby.  For more information, go to www.billzeffiro.com.

Liora returns to Don't Tell Mama in her debut cabaret show, THE GREEDY SOPRANO, on November 7th and 8th at 7pm.  For more information, go to www.donttellmamanyc.com or www.lioramichelle.com.

Zeffiro's Corner

Bill wowed us all with songs from his upcoming opera, "Truman & Nancy," which is based on the graphic novel Capote In Kansas, which was written in response to In Cold Blood.  The beautiful and ridiculously talented Abby Hase sang for us as Nancy, and started with "This House Was Full of Love."  Bill then sang one of Truman Capote's songs, "Lillie Mae," and, finally, Abby sang Nancy's "I Never Searched."
